December moments...

December - the last month of the year, the darkest month of the year. Still it is a month full of light and anticipation.

Here are the moments....

Frost on the windscreen in the morning....

January will appear awfully dark when we remove all this lighting we put up in December..

I started using my Christmas mug again. It was good to have as I was writing my exam...

Ice and snow.
I am glad the weather this month had signs of normality as opposed to the rest of the year.

It is the season of giving. For instance one rose. It was more than enough for me :)

And the time for parties. Last day at work before the holiday was marked with cakes and coffee.

We have lit all four advent candles...

And  Christmas came along...

.....with anticipation of the New year....

New years resolutions 2015 and how did it go?

From the archieves: New years eve 2012

One year ago I posted a list of things I wanted to do in 2014. Always interesting to look back and see how it went :):

Here are some things  I want to do in 2014:

- keep blogging..... - done :)

- get a proper job and leave the one I have....  -Well... I did leave the job I had last year around this time. In fact, I have had three jobs this year. At the moment I have quite a good job, but it is not what I want to do. Perhaps not to think too much about that for the next year?

- keep up and improve my power walking.... - I'v done that. Even took it a bit further and started to run. Over the last month it has slipped a bit, though...

- stop worrying about all sorts of stuff that never happens anyway... - Aaahhh, I wish I could do this! Definitely one to bring in to the new year.

- post more selfies on the blog and not feel so concious about it... - I have posted some selfies, but not feel concious? Oh, no!

- become better at baking.... - I was doing allright, I felt, up to this point :) :)

- become less scared of dogs.... - I have tried really hard at this. I spent the whole summer with a dog and I got used to it, but less scared of other dogs? I am not sure. I will work at it.

- drink coffee in coffeshops more often... - Oh, I like this one. I will bring in to next year, because I haven't done it this year.

- grow my hair longer, but not long.....- Definitely, I need to cut it now.

- travel more...  - I travelled betwen the city and the mountains for four months over spring, summer autumn. I have travelled up and down to college. I don't know if it counts, though. No holidays this year.

Here are my plans for 2015:

- Stop worrying about things that never happens anyway...

- Drink coffee in coffeshops more often...

- Have some new challenges and feel that I can master them....

- Stop comparing myself to others....

-  Stop thinking so much about failure and achievement or not, and rather find joy in what is here and now....

- I want to do like they say when they go through the security routine on an airplane: Help yourself first, before you help others....

- Keep up the running/powerwalking...

- Take a holiday somewhere...

- Keep blogging...

The year in review - 2014....

Went walking along my favourite coast  in January. We even had some snow last winter. Obviously not as mild as I remember it.

The trees in the pak are naked and dark in February, but in March spring was in the air and it was nice to go for a walk along the old warf in town.

Untill April, I still took my lunch in this lunchroom.

Spring was definitley in the air and we could have an easter barbecue outdoors.

Then May came and I went to spend the summer in the mountains, where winter was still clinging on to life.

In May, we celebrated two-hundred years of Nrwegian constitution..

Eventually the summer also came to the moutains...

I am so glad I got to spend some time in the city as well, so I could enjoy the summernight sunset.

The Mountains also have their pros...

The Sognefjord and the area around it has put a mark on my soul that it will be difficult to erase....

It felt good to leave the mountains in September. And it was strange to become a student again.

This is the landscape I will always return to....

I am on my third job of the year and I have been trying to combine it with studentlife.

Christmas is here again and the end of yet another year..

J is for jul...

Some Christmas knick-knack on my shelf.

Jul is the Norwegian word for christmas.
It is my favourite time of the year. Not so much christmas itself, but the pre-christmas time in particular. I like the madness combined with goodness of this time. All the crazy lighting we put up, all the decorations, all the christmas carols, the festivities and I just love when I hear: "It's christmas time" as an excuse or explanation when something a bit unappropriate is done.

The best days of the year is those between christmas and the new year, I find. The formalities of  the christmas celebration is done. It is still holiday. I always start to anticipate the new year during these days and think that the next one is going to be the best year ever.

Still I have a few days left before christmas is here. And I will enjoy them. I will look at all the crazy lightning that is around and all the decorations. I will appreciate people in santa hats and socks with bells on. Only happens once a year.

God jul!
