Lately I have been reading Nothing to envy by Barbara Demick. It is a gripping tale of ordinary lives in North Korea. She has interviewed dissidents to South Korea and let them speak. It is really a grim tale of the suffering the appaling regime in North Korea inflicts on its people.
According to the book Nothing to envy is a slogan the regime uses when they talk about South Korea and the rest of the world to the North Korean public. Quite a paradox.
