November moments.....

November has come and gone .......
It offered ever-in-creasing darkness,
Mostly wind and rain weatherwise,
Work and joy....

There are times when I feel that all I do, write and think about is work...

.......and all I photograph is nature.

But nature is fascinating, like an autumn tree, that this photo doesn't do justice at all.

Running in the November darkness....

The same darkness that allows for the cozy candlelight in the evenings..

 After the party...

Sunshine on the wall when I close the corridor for the day...

If you should fancy a rest on a frosty day :)....

"Smile! You're going on stage"

Working with juveniles can be so tough.  "Humor" is needed. The principal gave us this.

And now - advent....

Zero.....

As we go into a weekend with a weatherforecast for +10 and extreme weather warning for rain, I think back upon last weekend when it was zero and below.  Feels like a distant memory now.It was so much more beautiful.

Yes, it is approaching wintertime......

The weather on the west coast of Norway has always been wet and windy. The difference is that nowadays it is more of it and it is heavier. Extreme weather is more frequent and the winterdays are few and far between. And after a mild autumn I was glad to see some frosty, wintry days at the end of last week and over the weekend. I hope for more of those kind of days over the winter.

These frosty days has made me realise how much I miss the winter and how the seasons changes the landscape. That goes for both winter and summer. Frost is beautiful!
And thanks for the reminder that we are actually approaching a change of season in what weatherwise has almost turned out to be a year-round autumn over the past years.

Xenon means....

........ a chemical element that is a gas with no colour or smell. Xenon does not react with other elements and is used in some types of light bulb.

Going home in the afternoon....

Light is an ever returning topic living in this country. Either the overflow of it or the lack of it. Now the lack of it is dominant. It is the time of year when I leave for work in the dark. When I go home in the afternoon it is also dark. I know there has been some hours of daylight in between, but I haven't always noticed. I can live with the lack of daylight - not everybody can. I also know that six months ago and in six months the light was and will be here. Equally fascinating!

A clear day  in November gives a feeling of having seen the daylight.

Work.....

At the moment, work is predominant. Eleven refugees will hopefully master the Norwegian language well enough to go into society and be OK. We have another six months, but that is not a lot given that we have had them for a year already. My mind at the moment is constantly working around the topic: Is there anything else I can do? There is so much for them to catch up on schoolwise and lifewise!

Constantly thinking of new ways to teach and put information and knowledge into their young bodies.

Having eleven children between 7 and 13 with minimal school background is a challenge, and at the moment my mind is constantly working around it. Still, I like challenges, I like to have things to do and I like to work.  And there is good points. We see progress.
June will be here before we know it, and we will have to let them "out into the world".
Hopefully they will be ready!
This Autumn these eleven youngsters, here enjoying their lunch, have occupied my mind  - a lot, but not all the time :)

Vision of me on a sunday...

Sometimes I think I'd like to blog more about fashion and the things I  wear. I hardly ever do because I find that what I wear is to boring. The job and everyday life doesn't demand other than comfortable clothes and that is what I like the best anyway, so that is what I wear. Jeans and tops, mainly.

Now I am in the middle of  busy period hence a lot of my clothes, on this Sunday morning, are either just coming out of the washingmachine, are in the washing machine or is waiting to go into the washing machine. So for a family visit today I ended up with stripes, beads and glitter. I had to take a photo to see if it worked. Not sure if it did, but I wore it.

Here is a photo.

I almost manage the Barbie look, but not quite.

The question is: Do you get an impression of how the outfit looks?
