April moments..

April has felt closer to winter than spring,
but the light is here
and slowly warming up...

Despite the cold weather there are signs of springtime

I have needed my woolly mittens on my runs.

A rather wintry outlook from the harbour.

Several days of frost on the windscreen in the morning.
Also room for celebratitions.....

....and easter.

I am getting somewhere on my blanket of squares.

Tulip time...

Urban views or not?

Urban neighbourhood
I am at a crossroad in life. In the next few months I have to make a desicion if I am going to leave the city flat behind or stay. I have been thinking about it for a few months already and I realise that everything has its pros and cons.
I moved in here eight years ago. I was at a crossroad at that time as well. I needed to get out of one of lifes situations quite quickly and moved to this area of the city without having considered it much. (Come to think of it - perhaps all this time I have to consider my options this time round is the real problem?)
Anyway - I was going to stay here for around a year and that is now eight years ago. I have loved living here. I love being close to the city centre and I love the anonymity of living in the city. But I also miss things like being part of a community, being closer to family and friends (none of them live in the city), perhaps knowing your neighbours. But as I say there are pros and cons with everything.
I am a bit surprise at my own mixed emotions about it all. I think it is this aversion to change so well known in mankind. It is as if I have to convince myself that there are new and exciting hunting grounds out there. It is if I think that everything will go pearshaped if I move. Funny ain't it?
What am I afraid of losing - views like this?

This time of year can be so hard...

Grey, Cold, sleet and snow.
I am so ready for some springfeeling. The weather at the moment doesn't allow for any of that at all and it so affects my mood. It is colder now than what it has been any time this past winter. I have had to scrape ice of the windsecreen twice this past week. I don't think I did that in January at all.

It is getting greener and flowers are coming through and we have the daylight, so I know that spring will come soon. It is just taking so long.
It is less than two months untill the summerholiday. We have started the run up with lots of outdoors activities at the school I work in. If we only could have some warmer weather for it.

I have changed into summertyres on the car. (The day after I was driving through heavy snow) I have been in the garden to look for signs of spring. I found some.
I just hope the tulips don't freeze to death.

Sun + easter = outdoor life

We had yet another beautiful spring day and with it being Easter holiday and Good Friday we took yet another walk.

This time we walked along the fjord to a point where we can look back at the village where the house is. I am glad we went in the morning as it got a bit windy on the way back.

I am just going to post some photos without further comments. The first one is when we are looking back at the village. (I Guess I have a few photos on here taken through the living room window of the house which faces towards where I took the photo from.)

Happy easter!

Rugged coastline walk on a Maundy Thursday...

Maundy Thursday was not to bad weather wise and as most of the easter holiday is spent on the coast we decided to go for a walk in a place we don't go to too often.

It turned out to be beautiful and rugged as this coastline is all over. I am not going to comment on each photo, but we found narrow caves, rugged coast, the great Ocean, Trolls,  a playground and a picnic spot. Can you ask more of a walk?

Here are some images:

Quentessential spring....

All through March I was just longing for spring. I don't mind the winter at all, but this winter has ment rain and darkness. March came with cold weather, sleet and snow. And I just longed for warmer weather. When the temperature finally rised the fog came. One day we had a break from the fog. I went out looking for the spring and found it. The fog is back now,but the evidence that it is springtime is there.

Nearly blue skies.

It will bloom in not to long

I looked for the crocuses and knew I'd find some, but the daffodils was a surprise.

Silent Sunday...

Trollsk! on the first day.
Claustrophobic after a week of it!
